I forget sometimes.
In the morning, the shades protect me enough to hide my skin from the sun, but not enough to keep the light away. It slips under the dark canvas of my windows, crawling over my blankets, lingering on my hands. Light shines in my eyes, steals sleep, and invades my dreams enough for my life to wake up again.
